Dragon Knights Rank Structure

A core principle of the Dragon Knights is that we are well structured and well organized. This principle demands a thoughtful rank structure. The following structure is currently in place.

Captain
The Captain of the Dragon Knights holds the position of Free Company Master, and is responsible for the day to day operation of the free company, and maintaining, organizing, and leading the leadership team.

Lieutenant
Lieutenants are the senior ranking Knights and make up the senior leadership team. They will meet regularly with the company to discuss issues, manage the company, set goals, address problems, solve disputes, and any other role or responsibility assigned by the Captain.

First Sergeant
A single individual will hold this role. They will serve as the link between the general membership corps, and the senior officers. They will supervise and manage the Sergeants in the same way the Captain leads alongside the Lieutenants. They may be assigned additional responsibility and special projects by the officers.

Sergeant
An individual recognized as a standout within the Free Company. They are an example to new and junior ranking members of what it means to be a Dragon Knight. This is the first rank in which leadership roles may be considered. Sergeants must first apply for the promotion as a Corporal, and meet the following requirements: Not under probation or suspension due to Code of Conduct violations, and may not be a member of any other Free Company on Mateus.

Corporal
A full member of the Free Company, with certain rights and privileges, including voting in company wide referendums. In order to become a full member, an aspiring squire must complete a two week probationary period, be in good standing with the Free Company, and must be a member of a Grand Company. They may not hold a leadership position within any other Free Company on Mateus.

Squire
A recruit still in a probationary period within the Free Company.

At-Large
Alternate Characters and other special-criteria which warrants someone on the Free Company roster but are not eligible for full membership.

Emeritus
At such a time that any player becomes inactive or decides to no longer play Final Fantasy XIV, they may request Emeritus status. If approved, they will no longer have privileges within the Free Company or be considered a member, but may remain on the roster in the Emeritus roll. Upon returning, they may be reinstated as a corporal.

Special Positions
These positions will be appointed by the Captain and have specific roles within the Company. These positions are not ranks, but positions assigned to persons who meet minimum rank requirements. Individuals who wish to fill these roles must first meet minimum rank requirements.

The Ensign is responsible for overseeing all airship operations, including the deployment, construction, and development of the airship.
